Hey guys! This video is SUPER MEATY!!!! Let me know in the comments below if you've still got questions, and we'll schedule a specific Q&A!!!!!
Are cornices stil in style?
I saw a metal version of that tie back that you were talking about at Walmart today. But I didn't know what I was looking at.
Excellent. Simple. Helps to bring clarity as I grow in my Drapery experience.
One of your most informative videos ever!!
I just purchased a track for drapes for my 12' sliding glass doors. What is the name/type of drape that I need to use with hooks so that the hardware doesn't show?
So, I have a big window above my bed and a big window on the side of the room. I'm using a blind above the bed and curtains on the side window.
) above the window by the bed, so I cannot really hang a drapery as high as I would like to hang drapery on the other window.
There's an aircon (which we are using
Would it look odd to hang drapery only on the side window, way higher than the blind on the other window? I hope it makes sense.
So we are not going to talk about price?
. For the love of God stop puddeling your drapery.
what type of pleats are best with linen curtains?
Lisa, I did not see an answer for my windows and I am bummed.
Whats up with the strange figure in the corner @12:31? I seriously thought I was losing it for a minute lol.
This video is very informative. What traverse track system and batons would you recommend? I am covering one wall to hide my kitchen area in my ADU. Thank you!
Have you ever done automated drapery? Pros and cons?
Really a great video, I just got some light honey comb window shades, I love the look and how much light they let in, but it’s not so good when trying to play Harry Potter due to the TV glare. Looking for something that will fix that issue but while still looking chic.
LOVE YOUR PERSONALITY LISA. My favourite thing, is that you are so down to earth, not showing any condescending, attitudes. So important for those who want some of those fabulous designs, but working with limited budgets.
Hi Lisa. We have a 116 year old home. All the original woodwork, except 20 years ago I sanded and stained and vanished it all myself. I'm exhausted thinking about it, LOL, as it has been done to every room in the house. We added wide crown molding to the house also. We have always hung our drapes on the top molding and I like the hem to just skim the floor. It is not extremely ornate detailed on the window frames, but still original. I have kind of been wanting a change. We have only 2 windows side by side in a 13 by 15 bedroom. Should we extend the curtain about the woodwork, maybe between the crown molding and the window framing and extend the curtains out further or keep the curtains on the top of the window frame as is? In the upstairs we have a little over 7 ft. length from floor to ceiling. we have what I would call traditional/transitional style. Any thoughts you have would be helpful. thanks for great videos!
Lots of great info. You mentioned taking the drapes to the ceiling, but I would like to know how wide should your drapes be alongside a window and where to mount the rod in relation to the width of the window?
Thank you for the tutorial.
Now I have a white belt in Jiu-Jitsu and Ninja Drapery.
Thank you so much for sharing your kindness skills .
Well done! I've learned much. Thanks!
If I have a space with the living room and dining room open to eachother, do both rooms need to have curtains? There is one window in particular I want a light filtering curtain, but I’m not sure curtains in the living room would make that area look too busy. And if I would be best to do all the windows, is it ok to mix and match sheer and blackout on different windows?
what about when you want to fit furniture under the window, like a desk, or a bed. Floor length would be too impractical. Has floor length, in an average size bedroom become a matter of style over substance?

HI Lisa. Can you do a session on double curtain rods?
Thanks Lisa for my window education. So much good information without it being boring
You are the best Lisa! Thank you so much for existing! This is high quality content right here.
Thank you. This is excellent.
i have 96" curtains i LOVE the room is 104" tall – should i just stop trying to make it work?
What would you do in master with 8' high and 10' wide glass doors on a gable end with a vaulted ceiling?
What if after I hung my curtains on rings I realize they are 3.5 inches from the floor. Ugh. Any tips to move it a little lower I don't really want them go to the floor to collect dust
Thank-you so very much for all you share about drapery!!! You are so amazing!
This was super helpful
This video was awesome! So interesting to learn things I never knew. Cornices? Jabots?? Decorator’s porn!
Assistance Needed: I live in a row townhome and we have 2 windows in the living room and on the opposite wall, a sliding glass door in the dining area. (The kitchen is in between the two spaces). From the top of the windows to the ceiling measures 19.5" & from the top of the sliding glass door to the ceiling measures 27". Drapes are needed for privacy on the sliding glass door because the folks behind us can see straight into our home. In the living room, I just want them for decor as we have blinds. With the varying distances from top to ceiling, what would be the recommended rod placement for the sliding glass door, and is it a design faux pas to have drapes hung at different heights in this instance?
These videos are quite thorough, specific, accurate and interesting, without being long winded. Thank you!!
Hi Lisa, what a bout if my living room is open thrue the send floor so I havr high ceilings but the windows are just like in the first floor (small windows in a high wall
Love your hardware advice, placement is key. Especially for creating a larger room look and feel. Thats something we try to tell our clients as well! Thank you for Sharing!
How do you combine window treatments with different openings in an open concept environment? Facing the back yard from my kitchen, I have1 window to my left (3 ft opening), sliding glass doors straight ahead of me, and a double window (6 ft opening) 6 feet to the right of the sliders. Too boring if all the same?
