If insect glave didn’t have the insects (I know it’s literally in the name) I would give it a shot. Also can’t do the ranged weapons amo management sounds like a pain (respect to anyone who uses them) I’m more of a longsword greatsword charge blade duablades kinda guy also lances clutch claw move is epic

As someone who can't play Bloodborne (don't have a playstation), using a weapon that looks like a trick weapon really scratches an itch.
I subscribed when I saw you put the Chad Blade on its rightful throne.
Bow only has high dps if you have the mosnter fully tenderize and use power arrows and hit weakapot that you tenderized. Only lasts 90 seconds and usually the mosnter runs. But we agile
The switch axe can be played in a good flow you can actually switch between sword and axe mode and turn to the side or back to use those attacks to dodge but keep attacking technically, you have to use the right moves predicting almost bc its not much room to play with its very close combat almost but thats what i love its very different i feel like bc its always soo close to getting hit while dancing a composed slower dance
but to master it i had to kinda disregard the other weapons completely haha

I played World as my first Monster Hunter. I picked Insect Glaive first, and it carried me through the game because most monsters couldnt hit me while i attacking from the air
I'd put Gun Lance in SSS, it's the only weapon that Made me Beat the Game without using any clutch claw mechanic, no mantles, and still getting 10 min or less on iceborne hunts (remember without using the claw for wallbang or tenderize).

But tbh, speaking from experience from using all the wpn (i have 3.320+K hrs in the game) all the wpn have its unique way and charm to it! It really fits and well done by capcom to fullfill the variety of gameplay that MHW:IB provides, so yeah all wpn is pog imo. Just play the way and the wpn u want and enjoy it to the fullest!

Flawed AF list QQ. Gunlance is so much better than you think. insanely great. Hammer should be bumped up 100%. "chad blade" is great but… wanna be gate keepers praise it too much
I Play the Charge blade since mh4u and it's my absolute Favorite. I even Made me the Charge blade Symbol Out of Metal (and the Hammer Symbol for my mhw friend) and i absolutely Love this weapon.
As a switch axe main I've never felt so validated in a video. It has incredible offense but with very little defensive options. It's attacks are big and have long reach but with more recovery. What I love about it is playing the mid range, footsies type game with the monster until I get the opportunity to tear in into a monster. You have to know the match up or else you will be eating dirt. The fade slash they added in iceborne was a god sent.
Honestly I love rise I’ve world , if the graphics of the map is all you cared about then you never liked monster hunter in the first place cause boy the older graphics were fucking terrible
but it’s about fun it was to hunter monster without a dependency on temporal mantle and clutch claw in my opinion

I feel like putting gunlance and hh so low was just a 5head play to get all the gunlance and hh mains to come out of the woodwork.
Just like the 5head plays you need to use either weapon effectively, it actually worked.
Back when MH:W released, I started out using the Charge Blade, but I eventually switched over to using the Hunting Horn. I have enjoyed playing the HH for so long, I beat the game and every monster with different horns. The buffs you can get are so useful, from buffing damage and healing to preventing statuses and nullifying entire mechanics. For example; Everyone warned me about fighting Kirin for the first time, but since the horn I used nullified Paralysis and my attacks never bounce, I kinda ripped Kirin apart my first time fighting one. This goes similarly for every other monster. Honestly a very underrated weapon that more people should give an honest try with.
the fuck you on about "MAYBE" hunting horn is what every other weapon in the game wished it was. The fck outta here man! >:(

This helps me pick a few I plan to play with before I commit to mastery. I also wanted to ask how you got items to show as light pillars? Is that a mod of a setting in game that I can't seem to find. Wide-range hunting horn with mushroomancer is the fastest way to getting infinite friend requests. And slowest way to solo anything.
CB was the most satisfying in terms of skill progression, waking up and knowing I will improve slowly was fun in of itself. Definitely brutal to learn though.

I did my first playthrough of the main/side quests with Lance. After 100+ hours of that, I wanted to try something without a shield, but with all that muscle memory I kept forgetting that I needed to dodge instead of tank through stuff. I felt like Wimp Lo in Kung Pow.
Agree about CB being the ultimate, but god damn, its so far superior in Rise compared to world. Being able to easily lineup headshot saed's and faster transformation from the decoration the game has makes the weapon so smooth whole in use.
