What are the player instructions for the first 4231 tactic you showed here? The one with underlapping left back.

From what I understand, the new positional play functionality in FM24 means that you don't really need to go asymmetric. Players will adjust the space they occupy to accommodate their teammates' movements. Having said that, I can still appreciate how going asymmetric might bamboozle the opposition!

are there three different tactics, or did you just move the positions of the players? and I didn't understand you correctly in your explanation, do you use player instructions? curious 😉

Really useful mate. So it’s better to think of the formations when attacking. Like a 2-3-5 with Pep Guardiola and the assymetry does that and the over/underlaps help to create that shape.

Tried this and after 2 games I got absolutely thumped 9 goals conceded! I’m thinking this is only for elite teams and not underdogs like Birmingham! OI just made things worse and when I took them off it improved the performances!

got passing directness and tempo very wrong, the tempo one specifically is just stupidly wrong. it is in the 'in possession' tab so why would it affect your teams pressing?

I’ve made an entirely new tactic that I theorycrafted… it’s not as good as the one I’ve refined for almost 2 decades now.. but it works wonders still!
It’s a 2 libaro at CB and one defensive midfielder with two inverted backs. None at the midfield. 2 wingers and 1 enganche and 2 advance forwards. Play a high line, direct with gengenpress. Play with inverted backs, aggressive play and creative freedom. The players has to get use to the tactics..

I manage to not only save Pedova from relegation in the Serie B.. I got them promoted and the next season I finished 7 in Serie A. Got to Inter Miami and win the Community Shield and MLS Cup and another minor cup. And I beat the MLS scoring record and most wins.

If you got a tall Striker, you can play with a Targetman.
The reason why I thought it could be fun is because I’ve never dabbled with Inverted backs, libero and enganche, so I came up with a tactic where it all works out.

I also got a Danish Dynamite tactic from the 80s that works brilliantly. It was infamous back then, where the Danish national side got praised for looking like Brazilian football.. they could beat anyone 5-0 but on the flip side, they could also lose to anyone 5-0. My Danish Dynamite is less volatile but high volume in goals.

The underlap/overlap tactic doesn't actually instruct your players to underlap/overlap more often it just instructs the team to wait for & look for them more often.
