What length screws did you use and did you use a bolt and a washer on the other side to secure it? You said you used a cake platter. I don't know of any cake platters that are that bendy and flexible. They couldn't hold the cake. Perhaps you can clarify.

I found something that think you should make. It's from Wayfair and it's worth $3099.99
It's a Chandelier with crystals but I am sure that we can make it at faction of the cost.
It's called "Cosimo 9" light geometric chandelier, by Mercer 41.

Upon unboxing, I was immediately upset at how the rails were very noticeably bent. But I kept going, all tools needed to assemble were included https://www.youtube.com/post/UgkxqtX4Dxs6aecAZEuz6GY5-d81YecKCshn and I had it set up in about 30 minutes. Honestly I love this thing, make sure to read the measurements and measure your space so you know if it'll work for you. I bought this to put inside my closet, underneath where I hang my clothes and it is absolutely perfect! It is VERY sturdy and all drawers glide easily and mine are stuffed, and they are still flush when closed.
