Yes to decanting and using identical bottles and jars, but I don’t think everything needs a label. Obviously some things need labels, but I think when overdone it starts leaning kitschy and/or farmhouse-y

Love how at 12: 29 the dark walls, combined with light materials, like the rug and curtains, give the room such an enclosed feel, almost like an embrace, without it getting too tight. Also love the use of the popping colors in there, as to not make it boring.
At 1: 58 we see how just a few beams immediately make the ceiling look more expensive. Think those away and the whole room loses interest.
At 2: 30 there's not enough room on either side of the fireplace to put cabinets there. The slightly lower decorative paneling in the same taste as the fireplace, made that room.

This was awesome! Thank you for the information!
Do you have a recommendation for the bathroom towels? Kohl's and Penny's towels are nice looking but not thick and cozy, pottery barn is super expensive so curious if you've found a good cost effective alternative?

    Notes for myself
    – make it neat and minimalistic
    – lamps. Make it look nice when you turn off the ceiling lights
    – arrange furniture for an experience. Avoid putting it up against the wall.
    – consider putting products in simple jars you label with a cricut to make it look nice (I already have a Cricut)
    – put pillows in cases too small for them so they'll look more fluffy and stand up better
    – white towels

I love the thought of having my home look more elegant, like a hotel, but my partner and I are interested in a balance of hotel-y-ness and personalized home-y-ness. Do you have any ideas about what rooms or areas should be more hotel-y and what should be more cozy, and what kinds of decorations are more hotel-y (like a starter, generic decoration until you find a personal item…?) Thank you so much, and this video is brilliant!!

While warm white walls can make a home look more 'expensive', they are not always practical for households with children or multiple pets. The other problem with using only whites and neutrals is that, after awhile, all the houses start to look alike! I've learned that using a neutral color like pale gray, cream, or light beige is a great idea for hallways and as the main color throughout, but use coordinating colors in individual rooms, either painting a whole room in color or an accent wall. Some intense colors like burgundy, pumpkin, deep hunter green, or indigo blue is just as expensive-looking as white if the furnishings are well chosen. I have made and sold pillow covers in the past, and agree–the insert needs to be full! Also, thrift stores are absolutely a great way to make a home look classy without breaking the bank. Here in Florida, even many antique stores have quality items for great prices, and will often have a mix of both antique and newer furnishings.
